Satellite System for Offshore Surveying
Abstract
Techniques and equipment representing the latest developments in satellite navigation technology, software and applications are described. The theory of operation of a satellite navigation system is outlined. Derivation of position fixes by single point, translocation and short-arc techniques and the accuracy of fixes are discussed. Uses of satellite navigation systems in offshore and platform/onshore operations, and modern equipment available for receiving and processing satellite data are reviewed.
