An Oil and Gas Supply and Economics Model for Indonesia

W. Partowidagdo, E. L. Dougherty

Abstract

Objectives of this study were to build a model which estimates how the level of efforts by the contractors in each basin in Indonesia will vary as physical properties, government’s tax rate and hydrocarbon prices in each Indonesian basin vary.

The results indicate that the efforts are sensitive to those variables and the government should offer incentives to attract contractors to explore the more difficult (isolated, deep sea) areas.
