Abstract
Billions of barrels need traps and more: Satellite altimetry data over the Spratlys area strengthens evidence for economic features
Abstract
Deepwater exploration in Southeast Asia has great potential reserves however lack of agreement on exploration rights hinders conventional assessments. Large individual features appear to have sufficient burial to be sealed. Inferred source rocks should have sufficient burial to generate oil and gas. These reservoirs may be carbonates or sands but more work is needed to identify lithology. In some areas the likelihood of channel sands and fan sands is significant.
