Abstract
Dual-sensor streamer data analysis, resolution, penetration and interpretability for a regional deepwater 2D survey on the North West Shelf of Australia
Abstract
Removal of the receiver ghost will boost both low and high frequency content. High frequencies are lost as target depth increases. Large streamer depth causes no loss of high frequencies when a dual-sensor streamer is used. Real data demonstrate low and high frequency improvements exactly as expected. Low frequency boosts are particularly beneficial for inversion and velocity picking. Low frequency boosts are particularly beneficial for interpreting controlling structures and basin geometry. High frequency boosts mainly affect the first couple of seconds TWT. Source ghost attenuation has a significant additional benefit at depth.
