Farmout Opportunity PEP 38262 & PEP 38264 Offshore Canterbury Basin New Zealand
Abstract
The PEP 38262 Farmout in the Canterbury Basin off the coast of New Zealand contains Carrack and Caravel prospects. These late Cretaceous clastics are draped over a basement horst. There is a large, robust structural closure. Mean resource potential is roughly 1,500 MMBO or 6 Tcf gas with 1,250 MMB condensate. The PEP 38264 Farmout contains numerous basement horst and title fault block leads including the Wherry Lead. The Wherry Lead is mid-late Cretaceous in age draped over basement horst with a large robust structural closure. The closure formed early adjacent to Mid Cretaceous synrift source rocks of the Clipper Sub-basin.
