Abstract

The KG-ONN-2003/1 block is located in the prolific Krishna-Godavari basin in-trend of gas discoveries. There are proven source and reservoir units in drilled wells in the block. Multiple plays and pospects have been identified base on 3D seismic data. GS-OSN-2003/1 block is located in-trend with known discoveries including the giant Bombay High field. Drilled wells in the block indicate excellent reservoir presence in Oligo-Miocene aged units. Large four-way closures have been identified on 3D seismic data. VN-ONN-2003/1 block offers an opportunity to access a frontier exploration block. The block has abundant structure and extensive early Paleozoic- Proterozic stratigraphy. GV-ONN-2003/1 also offers an opportunity to access a frontier exploration block in early Paleozoic- Proterozoic stratigraphy. Hydrocarbon seeps have been reported and gas seeps of thermogenic origin have been recorded and Cambrian age oil has been discovered in northwest Rajasthan.
