Indonesia — Kambuna Gas Field Development: A Brief History of a Domestic Success
Abstract
The Kambuna Gas Field is off the coast of Sumatra, Indonesia. A 20 year technical assistance contact (TAC) was signed December 17, 1996. Two discoveries have been made in the 350 km2 TAC area prior to the TAC being signed, Glagah-1 and Kambuna-1. Water depth in the area is about 40 meters. Kambuna 2 tested at 17.5 mmscfd and 1,500 bcpd. The plan of development was approved in April 2006 and required the acquisition of 3D seismic. The gas sales and condensate sales point is at Pangkalan Berandan and the LPG sale is at Pertamina Pengolahan an existing LPG plan at Pangkalan Berandan.
