Abstract
Gas exploration in China is large and there is a growing domestic market with >$5/mcfg at the wellhead and rising. Gas infrastructure is in place, with underutilized pipelines on the block. Significant tight gas play with large upside that can be accessed by employing new technology for drilling and well stimulation is available for farmin opportunities in the Zitlong Block, Sichuan Basin China. A Mesozoic deep rift basin complex in the Nyalga Basin in Mongolia has been undrilled since 2 wells in the 1950's. Block XVI has porous sandstones with oil shows and bitumen at the surface, rich Jura-Cretaceous lacustrine oil source rock are immature to early mature at the surface. Seismic data indicates numerous structural traps providing multiple drilling locations. The 2011 exploration program includes acquisition of a third seismic survey a surface geochemical survey, and drilling two exploration wells.
