Abstract
The untapped hydrocarbon potential in New Zealand is vast. New Zealand has highly competitive terms, room to move within proven petroleum systems, optimized legislative regime, free data and high quality data packs, graticular allocation method/work program-based bid, and industry nomination strongly influence block offer. Petroleum source rocks include in-situ coaly rocks, coals and coaly mudstones, lacustrine mudstones, marine mudstones, black shales and turbidites with entrained coaly kerogens.
