Abstract
Abstract: A Fit for Purpose CCUS Screening and Areal Development Plan Workflow for a Geologically Complex and Integrated Network of Clustered Assets in Asia Pacific
A key part to assess the viability of storage and utilisation of carbon dioxide (“CO2”) in existing producing oil and gas assets is developing an Areal Development Plan (“ADP”) of the area. Understanding the subsurface, surface and techno-commercial features of the assets while integrating it all into an ADP will be key to assess the feasibility of deploying Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage (“CCUS”) program.
We will be presenting the process of screening the different carbon storage and utilisation options such as:
-
Determining storage capacities in available connected pore spaces within depleted gas reservoirs
-
Vertical, regional and local screening for saline aquifer reservoirs
-
Enhanced Oil Recovery potentials
-
Injectivity assessment in both depleted gas reservoirs and aquifer
-
High level well selections and commercial fiscal model to compliment current oil and gas fiscal terms due to no carbon market availability in South East Asia
Throughout the presentation we will discuss the fit-for-purpose workflows and methodologies based on industry best practices and lessons learn to generate the Storage ADP specific to the cluster of assets in a South East Asian operation.
