Abstract:

The Virgil pool is one of the early pools to produce from the "Mississippi lime" in Kansas. Since 1916 the pool is estimated to have produced 5,000,000 barrels of 37°-41° Be. gravity crude from small long-lived wells located in an area of more than 1,000 acres. The pool is on a well-defined closed anticline which has been the governing factor in the accumulation of the oil.
