Abstract:
Discovered in 1928, and considered by many as completely developed in 1931, the Bryson oil field was characterized by boom activity in 1936. Progressive extensions recur from time to time eastward, along the strike on the Bryson sand zone in the Strawn series of the Pennsylvanian. There has been no natural water encroachment, nor any pressure maintenance, and production declines have been very rapid. Repressuring with gas has been used with promising results. Cumulative pay sand thickness ranges from 35 to 60 feet. Initial production gauges range from 1 to 500 barrels per day.
