Abstract:
Detailed reservoir mapping of conventional permeability sands within four gas contract areas in the Elmworth field yields 7.5 tcf of contractible gas and another 9.6 tcf of remaining probable gas with total natural gas liquids of 1 billion barrels. Still unresolved is the amount of commercial production which can be obtained from an immense amount of gas-in-place in very low permeability sands. Production in the field areas has increased from 20 mcf/d to current peaks of close to 1.0 bcf/d in just four years. This pace has made essential a close integration of exploration and development geology, petrophysics, and engineering.
