ABSTRACT

The Lower Congo Basin lies offshore the west coast of Africa between the Republic of Congo and central Angola. It covers 115,000 km2 in water depths extending to more than 3500 m. A large number of oil and gas fields occur in the basin (14 billion barrels oil and gas equivalent produced and proved).
