Abstract:

Previous HitBottomNext Hit photographs from six locations in the anaerobic deep central parts of the Black Sea show no marine life or evidence of Previous HitbottomNext Hit activity of marine life, but they do show considerable evidence of small debris. Most of the Previous HitbottomNext Hit appears mottled, suggesting a closely spaced, uniformly random grouping of small sediment clumps. Some photographs show slight patterns, ranging from a few centimeters to 1 m long, that perhaps result from the descent to the Previous HitbottomNext Hit of floating debris, vegetation, or dead marine life. Several different types of lineal patterns on the Previous HitbottomNext Hit indicate the actio of weak Previous HitbottomTop currents. stereo photos show two lineal-type patterns with no observable relief. These patterns presumably are due to differences in reflective power or to very small textura changes.
