ABSTRACT
This study was designed to compare and contrast variations in acid-released
("adsorbed") light-alkane and aromatic hydrocarbons collected on a detailed grid
over Kinsale Head gas field, offshore Ireland (Blocks 48/20, 48/25, and 49/16), with those
collected on a regional grid that sampled the North Celtic Sea Basin. This study also
tests the limits of acid-released-gas methods with respect to bottom conditions, because
extremely sandy bottoms characterize the region.
