Abstract
Reconnaissance Gravity and Magnetic Survey of the Northern Mesquite Basin, Nevada-Utah
Abstract
Preliminary interpretation of gravity and magnetic data indicates that the northern Mesquite Basin west of the Beaver Dam Mountains is divided by a west to southeast, probably Precambrian cored, high. This high divides two fault-bounded basins which are assymmetrical with the deeper portions to the east. There is some indication that some of the Paleozoic rocks may be underlain by lower density sediments, possibly the Tertiary Muddy Creek Formation.
