Abstract
There’s No Oil West of the Pecos! As part of the Bulletin’s Diamond Jubilee series, this article presents a look at the work that led to the discovery of Yates Field.
Abstract
Following are brief excerpts from a lengthy report by A.M. Hagan of Transcontinental Oil Company, summarizing ten months of mapping in the west Texas region, in 1923-24. This work prompted tests of several surface features identified near the Pecos River, several of which became prolific oil fields. Good field work never goes out of style.
