Crosswell Previous HitSeismicNext Hit Imaging for Unconventional Resources

Bruce Marion

Abstract

As the oil and gas industry develops unconventional resources to meet the ever-increasing demand for energy, technology is needed for higher Previous HitresolutionNext Hit reservoir characterization and for more precise monitoring of the processes used to unlock these unconventional resources. Crosswell Previous HitseismicNext Hit imaging is a technology that provides Previous HitresolutionNext Hit of 3 to 10 feet that can resolve reservoir-scale features for better understanding of the underlying geology that impacts the recovery of unconventional resources. Additionally, time-lapse crosswell Previous HitseismicNext Hit can monitor EOR processes to measure the progress of an EOR project. Time-lapse crosswell Previous HitseismicNext Hit also can monitor the changes induced in hydraulic fracturing to provide information about the frac effectiveness to augment information provided in real-time with microseismic monitoring. Finally, crosswell Previous HitseismicTop can provide calibration information to enhance the precision of microseismic monoitoring. This talk has an applications focus.
