Abstract

As the oil and gas industry develops Previous HitunconventionalNext Hit Previous HitresourcesNext Hit to meet the ever-increasing demand for energy, technology is needed for higher resolution reservoir characterization and for more precise monitoring of the processes used to unlock these Previous HitunconventionalNext Hit Previous HitresourcesNext Hit. Crosswell seismic imaging is a technology that provides resolution of 3 to 10 feet that can resolve reservoir-scale features for better understanding of the underlying geology that impacts the recovery of Previous HitunconventionalNext Hit Previous HitresourcesTop. Additionally, time-lapse crosswell seismic can monitor EOR processes to measure the progress of an EOR project. Time-lapse crosswell seismic also can monitor the changes induced in hydraulic fracturing to provide information about the frac effectiveness to augment information provided in real-time with microseismic monitoring. Finally, crosswell seismic can provide calibration information to enhance the precision of microseismic monoitoring. This talk has an applications focus.
