Oldest Evidence of Wood Damage by Termites From the Upper Cretaceous of Big Bend National Park, Texas

Abstract

Wood-borings and insect frass from the Upper Cretaceous of Texas are interpreted to be the oldest known termite nest, the oldest known termite fecal pellets, and one of the few examples of trace fossil evidence of social behavior in insects.
