Specimens include conifers assigned to families Araucariaceae, Cupressaceae, Taxaceae, and sub-family Abietaceae of the Pinaceae; angiosperms of the families Euphorbiaceae, Flacourtiaceae, Rubiaceae, Verbenaceae, Burseraceae, Capparidaceae, Bombacaceae, Elaeocarpaceae, Platanaceae, and Myristicaceae.

Most of the comparative extant woods now grow in Mexico and Central America, two in Zaire and one each in Europe and Asia.
