Abstract

Amacker Tippett Wolfcamp field is a large stratigraphic trap located in the southwestern corner of the Midland Basin in south central Upton County, Texas. It has produced over 16 MMBO and 26 BCF gas since discovery in 1954. Extensive field development occurred during 1978-83.

The field produces from deep water carbonate grainflows, debris flows, and large fractured slide blocks of Wolfcamp age, which were deposited on the downthrown side of an active fault zone; Wolfcamp shelf rocks were deposited on the upthrown southern side.
