Abstract: Previous HitReservoirNext Hit Problems of the Nolley Wolfcamp Waterflood Nolly (Wolfcamp) Field, Andrews County, Texas

H. H. Nguyen1

Abstract

Waterflooding at the Nolley Wolfcamp Unit has been technically unsuccessful. Even with the recent 20 acre infill drilling and a complete five-spot pattern realignment, the ultimate recovery is still at 20% OOIP. The following are Nolley Wolfcamp Previous HitreservoirNext Hit characteristics; oilwet, gravity unstable Previous HitreservoirNext Hit Previous HitsystemNext Hit, overpressurized, high conductivity, underproduced.

This discussion presents data which substantiate the above characteristics and describes the unique Previous HitreservoirNext Hit engineering problems associated with secondary recovery. Solutions to these problems are suggested from classic Previous HitreservoirTop engineering and from simulation works. Results from successful field application of these solutions are also cited.
