Abstract
Clinoform Slope Geometry of a Wall Creek Sandstone, Salt Creek Oil Field, Wyoming
Abstract
The cleanest Wall Creek (First Frontier) reservoir at Salt Creek oil field is a northeast-trending, east-sloping, clinoform sandstone that is over 6 mi long, about 1 mi wide, and over 50 ft thick. An awareness of the asymmetric cross-sectional geometry of a clinoform slope sandstone can be helpful in subsurface mapping of this type of reservoir in areas where well control is sparse.
