High Road Field, Campbell County, Wyoming

David L. Tyler, Allen C. Modroo

Abstract

High Road field is located in T48N, R70W, Campbell County, Wyoming in the northeast Powder River basin. Three wells produce from a Permian Minnelusa "A" sandstone reservoir with the following properties: (1) average porosity of 18%; (2) permeabilities ranging from 20 to 434 md; and (3) an average water saturation of 35%. Thickness of net pay averages 21 ft (6.4 m) and recoverable reserves are estimated at 1.275 million bbl of oil. The oil is trapped by an updip loss of reservoir quality within an "A" sandstone section of relatively uniform thickness. Application of stratigraphic-seismic data and computer modeling were instrumental in the field's discovery.
