Abstract
Abstract: Prediction of Flow From Fractured
Reservoirs
By
DJH Energy Consultants, Fredericksburg
When two
pore
types coexist in the same reservoir, one may dominate
early performance, while the second one influences long-term
results. If fractures, which provide high flow capacity but
limited volume, represent one of the
pore
systems, the initial performance
may look great. If the second
pore
type has high porosity
and low permeability, the long-term performance could also
be very profitable. If the second
pore
system
has no permeability,
or contains no hydrocarbon, then the performance declines rapidly,
and the field is short-lived. Our objective is to demonstrate
how to use available data to predict the performance of your fractured
reservoir.
