Sempra Energy
This presentation will address some recent past and current
development activities at the Sempra Bay Gas Salt Cavern
Gas Storage Facility in Washington County, Alabama. The facility
has five caverns. Gas is actively being stored in four of them. Cavern
#5 is currently undergoing development for storage through
solution
mining
. Figures 1 through 4 show the stages of
preparation of a cavern for gas storage operations.
