Abstract:
Geophysical prospecting offshore nearly doubled, to a total of 14,657 line-mi of marine seismic surveys. On land, seismic exploration was down to 143 mi.

There was little change in the concession situation. Onshore, the total license area covered 50,988 sq mi, and offshore 365,017 sq mi.
During its first full year of production the onshore Kapuni field produced 10,625.87 MMcf of gas and 806,819 bbl of condensate. No plans are known regarding development of the large offshore Maui field.
