We suggest this figure, modified with permission from figure 7 in Cushing and Ruedemann (1914), portrays a relay ramp. The Amsterdam Limestone is equivalent to the Trenton Group, and the Canajoharie Shale is equivalent to the Utica Group (see Figure 3 for stratigraphic relationships of Trenton and Utica Groups).
