Cartoon depicting the depositional architecture along a north-south strike transect of the Brent delta, the formation of which is believed to be consistent with a forced regression driven by uplift associated with doming of the central North Sea and formation of the mid Cimmerian unconformity. The subsequent deflation of the dome-initiated transgression toward the south, recorded by backstepping of the Tarbert Formation and younger intervals (such as the Hugin Formation).
