Distribution of Lower Cretaceous play fairways. Their concentration in the Moray Firth rift arm is a reflection of the proximity of the western sources. The main reservoir systems largely populate a depocenter on the southern side of the Halibut horst, but also include areas of the horst itself (e.g., the Captain field), the faulted margins of which were reactivated during early Cenozoic uplift.
