Abstract
In the Fort Worth basin, conventional porosity devices have been inadequate for evaluation of productive reservoirs. Experience has shown that production is commonly dependent on natural fractures or vugs in the Marble Falls Limestone and in the Bend conglomerates.
Porosity determination, fracture and vug detection, and gas detection can be accomplished utilizing the acoustic velocity logging systems. The findings of actual field tests in this area illustrate the successful determination of productive zones.
