Abstract
The significant Mississippian oil traps in the Shirk field complex are structural
. These traps are probably basement fault related, and were created in pre-Middle Caddo time. The exploration significance of this lies in the likelihood that more Mississippian oil can be found by high-grading similar subsurface-seismic prospects through detailed isochron work in the Caddo-Mississippian interval.
