Mini Seismic Processing System for Training and Research Purposes

Suprajitno Munadi, Bambang Triharjanto

Abstract

Seismic method is an interactive system between the geophysicist with the subsurface rocks and the geophysicist with the computer. The success of its applications depends on the capability of the geophysicist to select an appropriate parameter in every step during the practical applications. In most cases several factors must be compromized to obtain the most appropriate field and processing parameters. Thus, in this case a well trained geophysicist is the key to success in petroleum exploration.

A handy specific PC-based software has been developed by LEMIGAS to enable the junior geophysicist to gain practical insight by doing experimental works through various processing steps. The system has been designed in such a way which facilitates the trainee geophysicist to learn the capabilities and limitations of the modern processing techniques.
