Abstract
Source of Upper Cenozoic Sediments in Colorado Delta Region
Richard Merriam, Orville L. Bandy
ABSTRACT
The mineralogy, sediment parameters, and a transported Upper Cretaceous fauna of the upper Cenozoic sediments in the Colorado delta region indicate that they were brought in by the Colorado River from the Colorado Plateau. These fine-grained deposits are contemporaneous with, but do not grade into, coarse clastic sediments derived from nearby adjacent mountains.
