Abstract
Chertification of Crinoids May Yield a Product Resembling "Dedolomite"
Gerald H. Kuslansky (2), Gerald M. Friedman
ABSTRACT
Rhombobedral calcite crystals may not be pseudomorphous after dolomite. Petrographic evidence indicates that chertification of crinoidal sediment is selective parallel to cleavage traces of the crinoidal calcite. Incomplete chertification may leave remnant calcite which morphologically is similar to "dedolomite."
