The Bipolar Line Level: A Simple Method of Topographic Surveying

ABSTRACT

This paper describes the materials and methods of a simple low-cost technique for topographic surveying, herein named the bipolar line level. It is suited for surveying mesoscale landforms, including areas with dense vegetation. Vertical accuracy was superior to the Abney level in field testing.
